Botanical self-selection does not replace veterinary treatment. There is no substitute for veterinary care and the animal welfare laws in the UK ensure that only qualified and registered veterinary surgeons can administer treatments to animals.
The service I offer is a complementary therapy and is intended to support and supplement the health care available from your vet.
Your animal maybe taking medication that will be affected by some oils. Therefore, it is important you consult your vet before continuing with any self-selection.
How It Works
I will work with you to guide you in the safe offering of the aromatics for self-selection and help you understand your animal’s responses. Aromatics are offered to the animal through self-selection, this allows them to choose the botanicals and how they want to interact with them. It is amazing how intuitive animals can be when given the choice to select the plants that they feel they need to help them feel better.
This often results in a deeper bond between animal and human, leading to healing for both parties.
- Analysis of your animals character according to the Chinese five element theory and how best to support them.
- Meridian balance assessment to check where the imbalance has developed and how to get the energy flowing.
- Aromatics that you will offer to your animal
- In person (dependent on geographical area) or online consultation to show you how to offer the aromatics safely.
- Ongoing support throughout the process.
The Process
1. The Discovery Call
Should you wish to work with me, we begin with a free 20-minute discovery call. You get to know about me and my methods whilst I learn about you and your fur friend whilst giving you the opportunity to ask questions. It is important to me that you feel comfortable.
Once happy I will send you out a consultation form to fill out and return, you can also include pictures if you like! This then allows me to create a bespoke botanical kit for your fur friend to self-select from.
2. The Assessment
After I receive your form and payment I can then begin to carry out an assessment to create a tailored package specifically for your animal.
I will perform an analysis of your fur friends character according to the five element theory, and a meridian balance assessment to gain insight into where they may have an energy imbalance and how best to support them, to get the energy flowing correctly. I will collate all the information so I can formulate a selection of bespoke botanicals and/or herbs to offer to your fur friend.
3. The Botanical Kit
Depending on your geographical location I will either support you in person or post your bespoke kit.
Your kit will include not only the botanicals (herbs, essential oils etc) but also information on how to prepare for your consultation, a list of botanicals and how and why they may be beneficial to your animal.
I will demonstrate how to offer the botanical aromatics safely and be guided by your animal in how they wish to work with the aromatics on offer.
4. Consultation
As well as your botanical kit, I will complete a 30-60 minute consultation with you either in person or online (depending on geographical location).
In person consultations are available within a 20 mile radius of Whitley Bay with the first 10 miles included in the consultation fee.
The consultation will be led by the animals and their reaction to the botanicals so the length may vary.
I will:
- Guide you on how to safely offer the botanicals
- Explain the signs of processing your animal is displaying
- Allow your animals time to work with the botanicals at their own pace
- Discuss ways for you to continue their botanical support after the consultation.
5. Follow Up
We will have a follow up consultation, approximately 2 weeks later. (The follow up is included in the full consultation price.) However, I must stress you are not alone during this time I will be there with you as you can always contact me for further advice and support.
Prior to this meeting I will complete a reassessment to assess any changes and whether further botanicals may be required. These will be posted out to you prior to the consultation.
